Day 14
We left Bristol today in search of a legend.  We went to Glastonbury, and the Abbey in this town.  It is here that King Arthur and Gwenivire are suppose to be buried.  The monks from the Abbey claim that they moved the two bodies inside the church and that they found his shield and sword as well.  Of course the Holy Grail is suppose to be buried around here as well.  Well we didn't have the time to find the answers so off we go to see the small village of Clovelly.

When I say small I mean small.  This village is down the side of a step hill that ends by the water.  It is a small fishing village that has not changed its ways so that people can come and see what life use to be like.  The main way down is via the small coble stone lane.  This thing is straight down and while we were going down in the rain there were these boys that were taking supplies down on a wooden sleigh.  They were out of control at times but they got to their destination.  While I was down there at one of the two local pubs some girls that worked at the pub helped me with some questions that I had.  See I was in search of some local information and they introduced me to none other than Arthur (a.k.a. King Arthur).  He is the oldest living, born and breed member of Clovelly.  This was more than I could imagine.  I had only 5 minutes with him and I wish that I could have spent the day.   But thinks being as they are with a tour I enjoyed my time with Author Tommy, said goodbye to the ladies and ran up the hill and off we went to try and learn more about Arthur  The real King Arthur.

Next we were at Tyntagel and the Dyntagel Castle, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur.  That is right we were there and we saw what was left of the Castle which is up on a cliff looking out over the ocean.  It is hard to say what is real about Arthur.  Scotland, Wales, and England seem to claim him in some form or another.  I don't know what to think.  I know that we saw most of England's claims to him.

At any rate we headed on to Plymouth for the evening.  We tried to get out and do some more laundry but we were to late everything was closed.  So I roamed around the town a bit and headed back to the hotel and sent out some more mail and then got ready for another day around the Plymouth area.
