 Aircraft at Carolina Sky Sports

Click to see a full-size picture Carolina Sky Sports (CSS) currently flies 4 Super CASA tailgate aircraft, 3 DHC6-100 Twin Otters, 4 DHC6-200 Super Otters, and multiple B-90 King Airs. There is always a turbine aircraft available at the dropzone.  Amazingly, in my first dozen or so jumps, I always jumped from the Super CASA.

Seven DHC6 Twin Otters are available from CSS. The Otters are stationed at other dropzones during the skydiving season, and are brought to CSS for boogies and special events. The Twin Otter is powered by twin turbine engines and is capable of hauling up to 22 skydivers to an altitude of 13,500 feet in twenty minutes. Four of the Otters are Super Otters. With their more powerful engines, they can carry jumpers to altitude in even less time!

No matter what the season, there is almost always at least one B-90 King Air at the dropzone. The King Air has twin turbine engines and is capable of hauling up to 14 skydivers to altitude in 12 minutes. Many skydivers consider the King Air to be the best all-around jumpship for speed and comfort.

The Super CASAs, can carry up to 35 jumpers to 13,500' in less than 15 minutes. These CASAs the only aircraft of this type flying jumpers in the United States!

With their large tailgates, launch bars, lined interiors and onboard climate control, the CASAs are the best and most comfortable big-way jumpships in the country! The Super CASAs travel all over the US for CASA Weekends and special events.

CSS does have small planes like the Cessna, but I 've never been up in one... yet.
