The Chilly Dog is a bed.  Actually, it's a very special bed for the dogs.  It is designed to provide a soft and warm "cavern" for the dogs to lounge in that is not unlike being "under the covers" in a warm bed.

The design is clever, yet simple.  It consists of a soft pillow and fur-like covering.  The furry covering has an additional overlapping layer, much like an attached blanket.  In the edge of the layer and bottom side, a plastic loop is inserted, that keeps the "blanket" up and easy for the dogs to slide into.

From the time I opened the Chilly Dog package, the dogs were all over it.  You can see at the pictures (left) how the dogs immediately settled onto the pillow before I even got the cover on it!

Did they have a problem getting in it?

Once I put the furry cover on, the dogs were on top of the pillow, much like a "regular" bed.  Within a few minutes, you can see (by the timestamp from the webcam) they were partially inside!

So do Sherman and Marco give the Chilly Dog a "paws up" rating?

It seems so.  They appear to really like it.  I found later in the evening (on the first day the Chilly Dog was delivered) the dogs were inside of it.  Usually they hang out on my bed during the evenings.

Did the vendor ship it within a reasonable amount of time?

Yes.  The shipping and delivery was indicated as a normal "3 to 4 weeks".  Mine arrived within one week of ordering.  The bed is shipped via UPS in a heavy plastic bag.

Can it be cleaned?

Yes.  The cover can be removed and washed.  Note the furry cover tends to "shed" a lot at the beginning.  You should wash it a couple of times before using.   Shedding is the biggest problem with the Chillydog bed, and after many washings (which slows down the shedding) the velcro doesn't hold as well.

How expensive is it?

As pillow type beds go, it is very expensive.  I ordered the largest size (30" x 34") and it was over $80 with shipping.  Smaller models are available that cost somewhere between $50 and $75 However, I will say it appears to be made of excellent quality materials, and has special "hand made" touches and attention to detail in the design and construction.  More importantly, it seems to be completely unique and provides the dogs with a truly "snuggle and keep warm" bed.  If the material didn't shed, it would be a truly unbeatable bed.
